The Vieux Port, Marsesille
After a difficult day of preparing to teach a lesson in French, Mom and I decided to go down to the Vieux Port in Marseille. We needed to calm down after trying to teach a lesson in French to our Family Home Evening group. The lesson went well considering we have only been here for six weeks with no senior comp to help out. The young adult group is so nice and enjoy helping us with our language skills. But after six weeks with not being able to understand anybody we needed a break. And because we don't have a curfew like the younger Missionaries we went down town so I could get some photos. We got there about 10:00 PM. I enjoy a good late night walk. It was a nice night to walk along the port. It is very well lit and calm compared to the rest of Marseille.

Institute Night with Frere and Sœur Faudin
Frere Faudin has been a Bishop, Stake President and Regional Rep for the Church here in France. I love him and his wife Isabelle. I think If I had never come on a mission I would have never known all these people. My life would seem empty now without them in it. Who knew I would find friends in Marseille France.

Callanque's Day Activity in Marseille, Nice Stake, March, 2012
We had our annual Callanque's Day Hike to the Mediterranean today. It was a Nice Stake activity for the JA. We had 58 in attendance. It was a beautiful day and the JA were awesome. It started out at the Marseille ward building with breakfast. We made lunches for everybody and then were off for our hike. It is about a mile walk to our destination. We had JA from Marseille, Aix En Provence, Toulon, Cannes, San Raphael, Nice, Avignon and Gap. And No they don't sell jeans in Gap. All cities on the French Riviera were represented. The water was warmer than I had expected. Sort of like Southern California temperature. Mom and I were the only old people there. They were very kind to us. Here are some photos from our day.
